I trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant at PwC and have spent my career working across audit, corporate finance, and CFO roles for growing businesses. I built annual-accounts.co.uk because I kept seeing the same thing: small company directors paying far too much - or struggling far too long - to file accounts that are, in most cases, genuinely straightforward.

When HMRC closed their free joint filing service in March 2026, thousands of single-director companies suddenly had no obvious route to file. I built this not just to fill that gap, but to make the process straightforward and affordable, without the cost or complexity of a traditional accountant.

What I actually do

This isn't software that files what you give it. When you answer the 10 questions, I personally review your answers, prepare your accounts and corporation tax return, and file them with both HMRC and Companies House.

If anything looks unusual I'll contact you before filing, not after.
